About Tara Leigh

I am 31 Years old and have been working as a professional/self representing artist for the last 3 years.

As a young aspiring artist I struggled to find my “niche”, but as a student, I realized I should paint in a style that makes me feel good, and not focus on what I think others will like. A more art historical perspective began inspiring my painting style. I am inspired by several major approaches and styles in the history of painting. I am drawn to unique ways of expressing reality. My style consists of expressive brush strokes combined with a visual transformation of paint to represent surface quality.

My goal as an artist is to bring light into peoples homes, whether it’s with the comfort of familiarity, or with a chuckle. I paint to simply make others happy.

As an artist I strive to make the ordinary extraordinary, because we all need a little whimsy in our lives.
